Final deadline for submission of entries is March 31th, 2009 (00:00 – CET). The prizewinners will be announced at a special ceremony to be held in December 2009.
Topic
The theme of the prize is: “Innovative Ideas to Promote Ethics in Finance”.
The Robin Cosgrove Prize aims to encourage and promote: (a) Awareness of the fundamental role of ethics in the world of finance; (b) Precise identification of ethical issues in financial activities and institutions, in both the public and private sectors; (c) Proposals for implementation of initiatives and projects concerning teaching and regulating for ethics in finance.
Candidates are invited to submit written papers that have not been previously published that examine the role of ethics and integrity in finance, especially taking account of the three aspects of the question mentioned above. The papers could be analytical in character or they could be proposals for practical projects. In all cases, they should meet three criteria: intellectual rigour, innovative ideas, and clear conclusions.
Target public
The prize is aimed at young people, under the age of 35 (born after 1 April 1973). Contributions from more than one author are eligible on condition that all the authors meet the age criteria.

of interest" form (here).
This registration will not commit you. It would help the organizers arrange
the details of the prize.
Your expression of interest is compulsory if you wish to submit an entry to the Robin Cosgrove Prize and to receive formal information (rules, application form, etc.) from the organizers.
Papers submission
Further details will be sent to candidates after their expression of interest (see above).
Length
The jury is expecting a forward-looking paper of between
minimum of 3,000 and maximum of 5,000 words (30,000
characters including blank spaces and annexes).
Copyright
Papers must not have been published previously and they should be copyright
free. Authors will grant the possibility to publish the papers
in Finance & the Common Good / Bien Commun, the regular bulletin
of Observatoire.
Languages
Final papers must be submitted in English or French. However,
if the text was originally written in another language and was translated
into English or French, applicants may also send the original version.
Format
Papers should be submitted in a WORD®
format. Applicants are invited to download a Word template
(see below) in order to format their texts in a common format, and stick
to the rules that would be sent to registered candidates.
Anonymity
Texts have to be anonymously presented to the Jury. Authors'
name do not appear on them, but candidates should indicate an acronym as
a signature. The same acronym is found on the official application form,
with name, age, etc. Only the assistant to the Jury will have access to
these documents.
